Program Overview:

This program will provide a practical overview of Washington workers’ compensation practice, including:

• The “grand bargain” and core benefit structures
• The roles of the Department of Labor & Industries, self-insured employers, and the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals
• Claim reporting, key deadlines, and common procedural pitfalls
• Working effectively with attending providers, IMEs, and vocational counselors
• Strategies for protests, appeals, and claim closure issues

The presentation is geared toward attorneys who are new to workers’ compensation as well as practitioners who would like a structured refresher.

The Skagit, Kittitas, and Whitman County Bar Associations will be offering CLEs together this year as part of a new, co-operative collaboration for the benefit of the members of all three bar associations.
