Free CLE Training & Volunteer Opportunity –
LFO Refund & Reduction Day

Skagit Legal Aid (SLA) invites you to participate in an important effort to support individuals in our community who are burdened by Legal Financial Obligations (LFOs).  SLA is hosting a free virtual CLE training on:

Monday, October 20, 2025

12:00 – 1:00 PM (via Zoom)

1.0 CLE Credit (Law & Legal request pending)

This training will cover:

  • An overview of LFOs in Washington State
  • The impact of the State v. Blake decision
  • Step-by-step process for Blake refunds
  • How to seek reductions of other LFOs locally

Speakers:

Laura Del Villar (Civil Survival, Reentry Legal Aid Project)
Austin Hellman (Skagit Legal Aid, President of Skagit County Bar Association)


The training will prepare volunteers to serve at SLA's upcoming

LFO Refund & Reduction Day
