An introduction to Skagit County Superior Court Administration and review of selected Skagit County Superior Court Local Rules.  This will include a review of the following:

1. Proposed Orders
2. Judge Working Copies
3. Noting Motions
4. Recusals
5. Revisions/Reconsiderations
6. Differences between Administration and Court Clerk's Workflow
7. Bench Trials
8. Trial Setting and Rescheduling
9. Proposals for Changes to Local Rules

*This is free CLE and attendance is reported only for Skagit County Bar Association Members. Non-members who attend can self-report their credits. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of the session. CLE credits will be approved only upon completion of a post event evaluation sent via email following the event.

Presenter:  Michelle Cook is Skagit Superior Court Administrator. After graduating from the Virginia School of Law in 1989, and practicing law for a few years, Michelle decided to take time off to raise a family. When she re-entered the workforce, Michelle was drawn to the wonderful world of non-profits spending several years advocating for the arts, affordable housing and access to justice. More recently, Michelle was a Family Law Facilitator for 15 years before becoming the Skagit Superior Court Manager and then the Court Administrator. When she isn’t working, Michelle likes to garden.
