This presentation is designed to help attorneys better understand their LGTBQ clients’ identities, vulnerabilities, and needs. It covers terminology, risk factors, legal protections (and lack thereof) against discrimination, and best practices for legal representation.

Speaker: Andy Dugan (he/him/él) is an attorney and the Executive Director for Skagit Legal Aid. Andy’s career includes substantial housing related experience and direct representation to historically underrepresented individuals. Prior to moving to Washington, he was privileged to be one of the first staff attorneys at the Equality Ohio Legal Clinic dedicated to representing marginalized members of the LGBTQ community across southern Ohio and previously served as a compliance and housing attorney for an innovative multistate law firm. He obtained his BSBA from The Ohio State University and his JD from Capital University Law School.
*This is free CLE and attendance is reported only for Skagit County Bar Association Members. Non-members who attend can self-report their credits. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of the session. CLE credits will be approved only upon completion of a post event evaluation sent via email following the event. Written materials will be sent to all registrants via email no later than June 12, 2022.
