Sedro-Woolley attorney Jeff Miller will be presenting on what you need to know about intellectual property and issues that may arise in other practice areas.  He will address such topics as: Value of IP; Patents; Copyrights; Trademarks; and an example of a world-famous multiple IP.

Jeff Miller currently serves as Business Manager and General Counsel to several Janicki family business units.  His career accomplishments include two successful IPOs, numerous private financings and many significant technology licensing transactions.  During his career in the biotech industry he managed all aspects of the FDA approval of a complex antibody based cancer imaging agent.  As a partner in a Seattle based intellectual property law firm, Miller represented the University of Washington in a landmark decision establishing the patentability of animals in the United States.

Prior to his employment with the Janickis, Jeff served as Senior Counsel to Perkins Coie.  Pre Perkins assignments include co-founder and CEO of NeuroTherapeutics, an early stage company developing novel drugs to treat neurological diseases and Senior Vice President of aQuantive, an Internet advertising company acquired by Microsoft.  Other assignments include executive officer positions in two other publicly traded companies and CEO of another private one.  Jeff currently serves on several boards including Skagit Regional Health and Aminex Therapeutics, a cancer research company.

Mr. Miller earned a PhD in biology from UCLA and UC Santa Cruz and a law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
