Bankruptcy: What All Attorneys Should Know

Mount Vernon attorney Cawood Bebout will be presenting on the how your client's bankruptcy can impact situations that may arise in other practice areas. Areas he will touch on include:
(1) bankruptcy filing requirements: who, what, when, where, and how much;
(2) the bankruptcy estate and judicial estoppel;
(3) the automatic stay and relief from stay;
(4) adversary proceedings and non-dischargeable claims;
(5) the intersection of bankruptcy and family law; and (6) the discharge, omitted claims, and community property.

Cawood (“Woody”) K. Bebout focuses his practice on consumer bankruptcy and family-based immigration and naturalization. He graduated in 1976 from Baylor University with a B.A. magna cum laude in sociology, and in 1982 from Saint Louis University School of Law with a J.D. cum laude. He was a staff law clerk for the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis, Missouri, and was a member of the commercial litigation and insurance defense department in a St. Louis law firm.
